Zoe Saldana (born June 19 1978) was the daughter of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Saldana in Passaic New Jersey. Her father is Dominican and her mother Puerto Rican. Her mother is from Puerto Rico and her father is Dominican. The family she was born into relocated to the Dominican Republic at the age of 10, and there they would be for seven years. Zoe's love for dancing was spurred by the time they lived in the Dominican. Zoe started her dance education with ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy. Apart from offering a way to express creatively the energetic and passionate youngster the dance lessons she received would prove to be a key factor for her acting profession. Zoe was able to move together with family members to United States at age 17 which was when she started to show an increasing enthusiasm for dance.
